WHY THEY WORK

The secret? A synthetic material unique to Légère, meticulous computer controlled processing operations

and a team of ambitious and hardworking individuals who passionately believe in the Freedom to Perform.

Materials
Design Process

Cane is a unique material—lightweight, yet surprisingly stiff along the grain. That unique combination is what makes it vibrate so well. Reproducing those properties in a synthetic material isn’t easy—but it’s exactly what we’ve done.

Our reeds are made from a special formulation of polypropylene—a non-toxic, food-safe polymer you’ll also find in medical equipment, yogurt cups, and packaging. On its own, polypropylene is far too flexible for a reed. So we strengthen it through a process called orientation, which aligns the polymer fibers to dramatically increase stiffness. That’s the secret to the signature feel and response of a Légère reed.

Because our material doesn’t absorb moisture, Légère reeds don’t need soaking, never warp, and are ready to play right out of the case. They’re durable, hygienic, and can be cleaned easily with warm water and a mild detergent. It’s cane—refined.

The Légère Guarantee

Légère Reeds wants you to be completely satisfied with your purchase.

Everyone can enjoy their Légère reeds if they find their right strength. This is why we are proud to provide an Exchange of Strength Program within 30 days of purchase. If you are unsatisfied with your clarinet or saxophone reed, please begin the exchange process regardless of where you purchased it in the world.

Please be assured returned reeds are discarded after a quality check and are never resold.

Ease of use and access

The Signature 2.0 reed for tenor sax delivers a clear, vibrant tone with impressive consistency. It responds effortlessly across the range—no soaking, no warping, just smooth performance every time. Durable and dependable, it’s a smart upgrade for players who want great sound without the hassle of cane.

Thanks for taking the time to leave a review, it means a lot to us!

Signature reed gives consistent tone

I have tried most of the Legere reeds and have settled on the Signature. I like a round, mellow tone, and a 2 Signature works for me. The American has brighter highs, but I like the consistent tone of the Signature better. I use large chamber mouthpieces and a Rovner Dark ligature.

We appreciate your thoughtful comments, thanks for sharing!

Another Winner!

Having had success with my Alto and Soprano reeds I decided to purchase a few for Tenor. Same outstanding quality, feel, and tonal production I got from the others. Love this product.

We’re so glad to hear that you’re enjoying it, thank you!

I love the SIGNATURE reeds on my tenor (and alto and clarinet)

I've used them on a variety of gigs, including marching and symphonic bands. They are amazingly consistent, and never seem to age. I play alto and tenor in the Queer Big Apple Corps Marching and Symphonic Bands here in NYC, and we now have almost 30 sax players. Only two others play Légères, but I am working on the others! I'm now using them on clarinet, too.

We're so thankful for your positive review and are glad you had a great experience!

From high school marching band student

The reed works amazing, I’m using it for marching band and I love not having to keep it wet and that it won’t warp in the heat. The plastic reed sounds better that any wooden one I’ve used recently and makes my vibrato come out much easier. I would recommend getting a little bit softer of a reed as for wooden, I use a 3 and for plastic I use a 2.75 to keep the same stiffness.

We're so thankful for your positive review and are glad you had a great experience!
