WHY THEY WORK

The secret? A synthetic material unique to Légère, meticulous computer controlled processing operations

and a team of ambitious and hardworking individuals who passionately believe in the Freedom to Perform.

Materials
Design Process

Cane is a unique material—lightweight, yet surprisingly stiff along the grain. That unique combination is what makes it vibrate so well. Reproducing those properties in a synthetic material isn’t easy—but it’s exactly what we’ve done.

Our reeds are made from a special formulation of polypropylene—a non-toxic, food-safe polymer you’ll also find in medical equipment, yogurt cups, and packaging. On its own, polypropylene is far too flexible for a reed. So we strengthen it through a process called orientation, which aligns the polymer fibers to dramatically increase stiffness. That’s the secret to the signature feel and response of a Légère reed.

Because our material doesn’t absorb moisture, Légère reeds don’t need soaking, never warp, and are ready to play right out of the case. They’re durable, hygienic, and can be cleaned easily with warm water and a mild detergent. It’s cane—refined.

The Légère Guarantee

Légère Reeds wants you to be completely satisfied with your purchase.

Everyone can enjoy their Légère reeds if they find their right strength. This is why we are proud to provide an Exchange of Strength Program within 30 days of purchase. If you are unsatisfied with your clarinet or saxophone reed, please begin the exchange process regardless of where you purchased it in the world.

Please be assured returned reeds are discarded after a quality check and are never resold.

Clarinet Reed: 5 stars; Same for tenor and alto sax reeds!

Légère never disappoints. I tried them on alto and tenor sax first. Moved on to clarinet and was amazed, again. Their return policy is terrific. I guess it's time for me to move on to oboe and English Horn!

I’m more than pleased with my new Légère French cut clarinet reeds. They exceed my expectations for tone and reliability. Plus they are almost maintenance free. No fuss & great tone, what’s not to love?
additionally, customer support replied to my email in a timely fashion and answered all of my questions.
I will definitely recommend Légère clarinet reeds to anyone who will listen. Fwiw I also use Légère French cut tenor sax reeds.

Great Reeds!

I love my new reeds. Consistency is the key! Very good tonal quality that holds up well when playing in longer practice sessions. Maintains steady in articulated passages and legato as well. I chose on size lower than I normally play with a cane reed and that worked well for me. Follow the care instructions and rotate a few for better conditioning. I’m confident that you will enjoy these reeds.

Great sound from the start

I love that the reed is ready to go. Just play a few notes on it. Make sure you’re lined up and start playing.

French cut reed for bflat clarinet.

French Cut bflat reed is fabulous. Strength 3.75 sound beautiful with Chedeville Umbra F0 or Backun Shiffrin mpc with Selmer Recital clarinet. Will not be going back to cane
