Vince Dominguez | Claire Annette
Drag Clarinet Superstar
United States
As a clarinetist working between classical music and nightlife entertainment spaces, I demand a reed that can keep up with every nuance of my performance demands. From the most delicate pianissimo to a bold resonant fortissimo, Légère Reeds meet that demand and exceed it every single time I’m on stage, providing the freedom, consistency and range I need to take risks and explore new sonic possibilities.

Dr. Vince Dominguez is an award-winning performer, educator, and creative based in Providence, RI. Known for his dynamic artistry, virtuosity, and commitment to equity in the arts, Vince maintains a national presence as both a clarinetist and a sought-after music educator. He currently serves as the Rhode Island State Chair for the International Clarinet Association (ICA), woodwind faculty at the Rhode Island Philharmonic Music School and appears regularly as a soloist, chamber musician, and orchestral performer across New England. Most recently, he performed as principal clarinet with the International Pride Orchestra in New York City.
Since 2009, Vince has presented and performed at leading conferences hosted by the International Clarinet Association, Arizona Music Educators Association, College Music Society, North American Saxophone Alliance and the SPHINX Organization. A career highlight came in August 2024, when he was featured as a Headlining Artist at the ICA’s ClarinetFest in Dublin, Ireland, performing as his internationally acclaimed drag persona, Claire Annette. Most recently, Vince presented his lecture “Imposter Syndrome Is Such A Drag!” at the ICA’s ClarinetFest 2025 in Fort Worth, TX, detailing the intersections between classical and drag performance practice.
Alongside his performance and teaching work, Vince brings over a decade of experience in arts administration with leadership roles at the Merit School of Music, Ravinia Festival, Lexington Philharmonic, Quinteto Latino, and the Boulanger Initiative, a nonprofit dedicated to uplifting women and gender-marginalized composers in classical music.
Vince earned his Doctor of Musical Arts degree from Arizona State University in April 2020, where he held one of two prestigious graduate teaching assistantships. His doctoral project included a performance guide and three commissioned works for clarinet by renowned Mexican composers Victor Ibarra, Hilda Paredes, and Juan Trigos, each exploring sociopolitical issues affecting the U.S. and Latin America. A Légère Reeds and Henri SELMER Paris endorsed performing artist, he is passionate about amplifying queer & BIPOC voices and advocating for equity & inclusion throughout the classical music world.
