Joe Leader

Légère reeds are the best I have ever played! 'Signature' and 'American Cut' reeds for Soprano and Alto Sax, allow me the freedom to play a myriad of different styles, with ease and confidence. From the first breath, they support all the timbres, effects and dynamics that I use, with precise intonation and evenness of tone. Their flexibility, durability and consistency, is second to none. Légère reeds have a bright, warm tone and dynamic response, which allow me to 'make atmosphere' with every note, every breath!

Thank you Légère!

Joe Leader was born into a family of international musicians, and grew up immersed in the passion of musical performance. His mother, concert pianist Lucille Orden Leader, taught Joe to perform in the spirit of the 'Romantic' style. To 'make atmosphere' with every note, every movement and every breath.

Joe's father, a Doctor and keen martial artist, introduced him to the Japanese martial art, Aikido, from a young age. The rigorous mental and physical training gave Joe the confidence and balance on stage, to perform from the heart, with a powerful presence.

Aged sixteen, Joe's first band won the 'Daily Telegraph Young Jazz Awards !' He studied saxophone privately at London's Guildhall School of Music, and then went on to the University of Cape Town, South Africa. Joe's first class honours degree in Music Technology from LCMM, developed his auditory awareness, and gave him the technical expertise to produce his own albums and live shows, to an exponentially high standard. Joe's debut album, Seductive Sax, had 135 global radio plays per week, and reached the Top 20 in US Jazz charts.
