Joe D'aleo

US Coast Guard Saxophonist

United States

This is the only product that remains more reliable and consistent in use than the standard cane reed. Teachers, students and colleagues are always shocked by the impressive tone and clarity when learning that a Légère Reed is on my mouthpiece.

Joe D’Aleo joined the United States Coast Guard Band in 2013 as tenor saxophonist. Prior to his audition and subsequent enlistment in the Coast Guard he was a Henry Mancini Fellow and teaching assistant at the University of Miami, Frost School of Music under his mentor, Dale Underwood. While in Miami, he performed regularly with the New World Symphony Orchestra. He has worked with renowned wind band conductors such as Glen Adsit, Rodney Dorsey, Gary Green, Michael Haithcock, Captain Ken Megan, USCG, Ret., Colonel Larry Lang, and H. Robert Reynolds. Additionally, Mr. D’Aleo has toured with the United States Coast Guard Band throughout the United States and Puerto Rico, and most recently in the 2017 Summer Heartland Tour, which included the 2017 Texas Bandmaster’s Association Conference, Baylor University, Meyerson Symphony Center, Oklahoma State University and Kauffman Center for the Performing Arts.

In other musical accolades, Joe D’Aleo has performed in the Fischoff National Chamber Music Competition, United States Navy Band Symposium, numerous North American Saxophone Alliance Conferences and most recently at the 2016 CBDNA Eastern Division Conference as a soloist in Frank Tichelli’s Concerto for Saxophone with Glen Adsit and the Hartt Wind Ensemble.
