His students have won numerous awards at both state and local levels including receiving outstanding soloist awards at venues like The Monterey, Reno International, Northern Arizona University, Chaffey College, and Fullerton College Jazz Festivals.
Jimmy has served as the past treasurer for the State of Nevada's IAJE Chapter, is currently a member of J.E.N. (Jazz Education Network). He has taught many music/jazz clinics at venues like the IAJE Western Regional Conference, and various music summer camps such as the prestigious Idllywild Arts Academy in California.
His teachers have included: Joe Viola, Joe Allard, Phil Woods, Bob Patton, Daniel Klimoski, Lou Mazza, Ken Brader Jr., Mark Hilburn, Bob Newman, Jay Cameron, Anthony Gigliotti and Julius Baker.
In addition to Légère Reeds Ltd., Jimmy is currently an artist/endorser for Theo Wanne Classic Mouthpieces and Nadir Saxophone Neckstraps.
