WHY THEY WORK

The secret? A synthetic material unique to Légère, meticulous computer controlled processing operations

and a team of ambitious and hardworking individuals who passionately believe in the Freedom to Perform.

Materials
Design Process

Cane is a unique material—lightweight, yet surprisingly stiff along the grain. That unique combination is what makes it vibrate so well. Reproducing those properties in a synthetic material isn’t easy—but it’s exactly what we’ve done.

Our reeds are made from a special formulation of polypropylene—a non-toxic, food-safe polymer you’ll also find in medical equipment, yogurt cups, and packaging. On its own, polypropylene is far too flexible for a reed. So we strengthen it through a process called orientation, which aligns the polymer fibers to dramatically increase stiffness. That’s the secret to the signature feel and response of a Légère reed.

Because our material doesn’t absorb moisture, Légère reeds don’t need soaking, never warp, and are ready to play right out of the case. They’re durable, hygienic, and can be cleaned easily with warm water and a mild detergent. It’s cane—refined.

The Légère Guarantee

Légère Reeds wants you to be completely satisfied with your purchase.

Everyone can enjoy their Légère reeds if they find their right strength. This is why we are proud to provide an Exchange of Strength Program within 30 days of purchase. If you are unsatisfied with your clarinet or saxophone reed, please begin the exchange process regardless of where you purchased it in the world.

Please be assured returned reeds are discarded after a quality check and are never resold.

From high school marching band student

The reed works amazing, I’m using it for marching band and I love not having to keep it wet and that it won’t warp in the heat. The plastic reed sounds better that any wooden one I’ve used recently and makes my vibrato come out much easier. I would recommend getting a little bit softer of a reed as for wooden, I use a 3 and for plastic I use a 2.75 to keep the same stiffness.

Tenor Epic Signature

After years of successfully using Legere Signature Alto reeds, I finally acquired a Tenor sax.
Signature Tenor 2.25 together with the incredible TT-Mouthpiece is a subtone "match made in heaven". Right out of the box Legere Reeds sing and whisper, cry and growl like the best of cane reeds. This engineering mastery + consistency of production resulted in the reliable creative partner for me.
Thank you for your Excellence, Legere!

Glad to hear you're enjoying the reed!

French alto reed and te or signature reed

I used the signature alto reed and now tried the French alto reed and I love the sound, much richer and clearer. Just in time for summer concerts. I needed to play alto for a group and bought the signature tenor reed. What a difference from my wood reeds. Place great instantly. I have convinced many of my colleagues to try them. And the exchange policy guarantees you will get a good fit

Glad to hear you're enjoying the reed!

from '' THE SAXMAN'' re- Legere Signature Reeds

been playing tenor sax for decades and can honestly say Legere Reeds are the best reeds on the market. I'm using the reeds on my Keilworth tenor and love the rapid response and the tone the reeds give me. Playing "miles" on each reed. Very durable and always ready to be played. The "Saxman"

Glad to hear you're enjoying the reed!
