Callum MacKenzie
Callum MacKenzie
Callum MacKenzie is one of the top jazz saxophone players in greater China, renowned for bringing a truly modern jazz sound to Hong Kong. Day to day he can be found anywhere from the banquet hall of the Grand Hyatt, where he frequently plays many different genres of music at weddings and corporate functions, to the mainstage of a festival attended by tens of thousands of people, such as ‘Wine and Dine’ or ‘Clockenflap’. He feels most at home at small jazz clubs like Peel Fresco, where he currently cohosts the longest running jam session in Hong Kong with The Wong Way Down, known as the hippest jazz band in Hong Kong. He is featured on the Wong Way Down’s recent album, “Ain’t Nothing Wrong,” and recently arranged the music of the Wong Way Down for a chamber jazz concert presented by The Hong Kong Sinfonietta. Callum exclusively endorses Légère Reeds.
